Research

One of the most cutting-edge research directions in photovoltaics: Perovskite-based Multiple-junction Photovoltaics(including full perovskite multijunction, perovskite/Si multijunction, perovskite/CIGS multijunction, perovskite/organic multijunction, etc.)

  • All-perovskite, perovskite/low band gap semiconductor (such as Si, CIGS, organic, etc.) multi-junction photovoltaic (two-junction, three-junction and above) structure design, device construction and long-term stability research.
  • Modular preparation of perovskite-based single junction and multijunction.
  • Based on multi-junction photovoltaic, the optimization of perovskite material system, the development of perovskite film forming process and the regulation of surface interface are carried out.
  • Theoretical analysis of the physical and chemical mechanisms of perovskites. (including DFT calculations, machine learning, device simulation, etc.)

Project Design

We aim to develop new photovoltaic device structures and breakthroughs in photovoltaic efficiency and stability. Based on individual backgrounds and characteristics, postdocs and others will discuss with their supervisors a clearly defined topic with high-impact potential prior to joining the topic group.

Wang Zaiwei

Researcher and Ph.D. Director, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, CAS, selected by the National Program for the Introduction of Overseas High-level Talents (Youth Program).2021-2024.03 Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Edward Sargent; Ph.D. degree at the Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (ETH) under the supervision of Anders Hagfeldt and Michaël Graetzel, 2017-2020; M.S. degree at the Qingdao Institute of Energy, CAS, 2013-2016. D. degree in the group of academicians Anders Hagfeldt and Micheal Graetzel at ETH Lausanne from 2017 to 2020; M.S. studies in the group of researcher Pang Shuping and Cui Guanglei at Qingdao Institute of Energy Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (QIER, CAS) from 2013 to 2016. Currently, he has close cooperation and communication with many famous groups in the field of chalcogenide at home and abroad, and the team is mainly engaged in the design and preparation of new semiconductor photovoltaic materials and their applications in single-junction and multi-junction photovoltaic research. The team has broken the world record of chalcogenide triple-junction photovoltaic and achieved great progress in stability (Nature, 2023, 618, 74-79.), and has published more than 40 papers so far, among which the first/corresponding authors have been published in the top journals, such as Nature, Nature Energy, Joule, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, J. Am. Chem. Advanced Materials, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed, and so on, and has published 16 articles. The paper has been cited more than 4400 times with an H-factor of 31.

Cheng Huiming

Internationally renowned carbon material scientist, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and member of Academy of Sciences for the Developing World. Currently, he is the director of the Institute of Carbon Neutral Technology of Shenzhen Advanced Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the honorary dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Shenzhen Polytechnic University, the director of the Advanced Carbon Materials Research Department of the Shenyang National Research Center for Materials Science of the Institute of Metals of CAS, and the Distinguished Guest Professor of the International Graduate School of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen. He is mainly engaged in the research of carbon nanotubes, graphene, energy conversion and storage materials, etc. He has obtained more than 150 invention patents, and initiated the establishment of a number of high-technology companies with the technologies of graphene, hexagonal boron nitride and battery materials. He has made more than 190 invited presentations at academic conferences at home and abroad, published more than 750 papers (H-factor 190, cited more than 250,000 times), and is an international highly cited scientist in the fields of chemistry and materials, and his related achievements have been awarded with three second prizes of the National Natural Science Award, and one second prize of the National Defense Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Scientific and Technological Advancement, the U.S. Charles E. Pettinos Award, the Charles E. Pettinos Award, the Felcht Award, and the ACS Nano Lecture Award. He was the deputy editor-in-chief of Carbon and editor-in-chief of New Carbon Materials, and is now the founding editor-in-chief of Energy Storage Materials and deputy editor-in-chief of Science China Materials.

Postdoctoral

  • Recognize the team culture, enthusiasm for scientific research, strong execution, teamwork spirit and willingness to help others.
  • Has obtained or will obtain a doctoral degree in materials science, physics, chemistry and other related majors from a well-known university at home and abroad; in principle, the age is not more than 35 years old;
  • Good scientific research foundation (excellent experience in preparation, characterization and article writing related to chalcogenide PV is preferred, experience in stacking is not required), and those who have published high level academic papers as the first author/corresponding author are preferred (not published for the time being is also acceptable).

Research Associate, Full-time Research Assistant, Joint Ph.D./M.D., Ph.D./M.D. Candidate

Students who are interested in applying for Associate Research Fellowship, Research Assistantship, Joint Training Ph.D./M.S., or applying for Ph.D. or M.S. are welcome to write and communicate with us. There is no requirement on the original subject direction of the joint training students, and the team will provide certain living allowance.

Position package

  1. provide competitive salary to the postdoctoral applicants and adjust the performance salary upward every year according to the work performance; the annual salary of the remuneration package is not less than 320,000 yuan, and the maximum is up to 600,000 yuan (including 150,000 yuan of provincial subsidy and 60,000 yuan of municipal subsidy);
  2. postdoctoral personnel and regular employees are entitled to the same annual appraisal bonus, year-end bonus, horizontal subject incentives, patent application incentives and meal subsidies and other welfare benefits;
  3. After leaving the station, eligible candidates can be recommended to apply for the special research assistant program of Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is RMB 300,000/year for two years; those who are excellent in their work can be directly recommended to be assessed as associate researchers. After the station to stay in Shenzhen to sign a 3-year labor contract, can apply for Shenzhen postdoctoral station to stay (to) Shenzhen research funding of 300,000 (100,000 per year for a total of 3 years).
  4. During the period of stationing, eligible candidates can competitively apply for the national “BoXin Program” (the state grants each candidate 630,000 RMB for two years, of which 400,000 RMB is the daily funding for postdoctoral candidates, 200,000 RMB is the postdoctoral science fund, and 30,000 RMB is the funding for international exchanges), and the introduction of projects of the postdoctoral international exchange program (400,000 RMB for 2 years), International Training Program for Young Excellent Research Talents in Guangdong Province (400,000/2 years); overseas postdocs who meet the ranking of T200 universities can competitively apply for the Guangdong Overseas Postdoctoral Talent Support Program (600,000/2 years on station, 400,000 housing allowance for staying in Guangdong after leaving the station, a total of 1,000,000), and the above programs will not be combined with the daily funding of Guangdong Province and the living allowance of Shenzhen City;
  5. Encourage the declaration of Youth Fund, Postdoctoral Science Fund grants, etc.
